11 second club Mexican Potato guy

I made this in Blender 3d, from scratch when I was 18. I still cannot believe the amount of time I spent back then trying to do really simple tasks in a 3d application. Youtube was still young, and there were mostly just stupid/funny videos to try to drive traffic. I was born just a couple of years early I think.

I used to go to the library looking for books on animation, and all I could find was this textbook on how to use blender, and a book from Bluesky Studios that sort of just mentioned how the process works from start to finish...but they didn't tell you how to do anything. I definitely should write a post about the books that saved my sanity! Really, I was trying to learn a skill that literally NOBODY that I knew had any idea how to help me. It is hard to learn something when you don't have anyone to turn to for answers.

This will be a good topic for a later post.

My August 11 second club submission - It is in Spanish, so I am not so sure that the lip sinking is correct.

There is a contest for creating actions for the Apricot game on Apricot.blender.org. This is my contribution so far...If I can find a way to get it to them.

The Tortoise has come a long way since I started this thing...She has a set of working bones now, so soon I will be coming out with a singing test.

This is my latest version of the armadillo section in the Numa video. I think this is as far as I am going to go with this part, but when the whole thing is finished I might try adding some effects with compositing in Blender - But I've gotta learn how first.
